Milkshakes, pretty weather, and turning 26

Today, or tonight rather, I went to Sonic to get two cream pie shakes and guess what?!?!? They didn't know what the heck I was talking about. WHAAA? I ended up getting Brenna a caramel shake, and I stopped at Jack In The Box to get an Oreo one. But back to the whole not having the shake I originally went to get at Sonic. I know that Texas has different things then Tennessee, and when I found out last summer that they didn't have Peanut Butter milkshakes I was very bummed, and then shortly after I had Brenna try a Chocolate Cream Pie shake and she liked it:) So both of us being in a milkshake mood, off to Sonic I drove. On top of not having cream pie shakes, they also didn't have Hot Fudge Brownie Sundaes. WHAAA?!?!? There went my second choice, hmmmpph! Good thing I can make a pretty good peanut butter shake when I have all the right ingredients (which was not tonight, obviously).

On a better note, the weather has been pretty! Aside from the painters still finishing up the trim and what not it's been a good week. We took Kallie for a walk, bought some flowers and planted them in a pot to put on our "porch", and took Doodles out to get comfortable with the surroundings. When I lived in TN I used to take her out in the back yard and she liked it. She was a bit scared this time though and I brought her back in, however Kallie was enjoying being outside so we stayed out a bit longer with her.

...And yesterday I turned 26! I'm getting closer to 30 and I have mixed feelings about it. I don't feel any different, nor look it, well aside from chopping my hair off this past Monday. But I remember being younger and thinking 30 was SO old. >_< Of course now I don't think that. Anyways here's a pic of me with my new short do, and the head band I made :)

Remodel: Apartment edition

Our apartment is getting a much needed face lift, in my opinion. The new colors are more to my liking... could it be because one of the new colors is orange? It's not like that is my favorite color or anything. Brenna says it has nothing to do with a shade of my fave color being plastered on the exterior for me to look at daily. There's a 50/50 chance she's right ;)

Although I am glad for this exterior remodel of the apartment I'll be glad when it's over. Kallie has barked her crazy a few times at the men climbing up the ladders. Not to mention that it seems they are now taking their sweet time finishing up the work... men, ugggh. LOL

In other news my grandparents are thinking about making the 12-14 hour drive next week to be here for my birthday. That will be nice to see them if they come, but if they don't I understand completely. It is quite a drive, I rode with my mom last summer when I moved here on NO sleep, so I'm aware of the length of the trip, lol.

I should probably charge up my camera and take some pics of Kallie when we go for a walk later. Problem is I need motivation today. Any ideas? Oh well, I'm off to check on my zoo animals on FB, I'm sooo addicted to that application >_<.

We're back (maybe)

After months of wanting to blog but every day life being in chaos, things are FINALLY settling down. We decided to start over with a clean slate. For anyone who doesn't know who either of us are, let me get you up to date.

Brenna, or "B" to her 2.5 yr old niece, Ellie, is 22 and my best friend. I'm Jen, or "Ghen"(lol), I'm 25 (almost 26,in 10 days). We found each other through the rare syndrome we both have, but that is only a small fraction of the similarities we share. We live in an apartment here in Texas, and love living on our own. Both of us came from living with our parents prior to this. It's been an adventure the last 8 months between surgeries, hospital stays, and just living life day by day, but it's been worth it :)

We have three pets who are our babies. The first is Lola, a 6 yr old Peach faced lutino Lovebird. She is the "show girl" of the house and thinks we are her audience which we are, lol. Next up is Doodles, she's almost 4 (in April) and is the prettiest calico around (I'm not biased, I swear!) She is the "Queen" of the house, and doesn't let us forget it. And then there's the baby of the bunch, Kallie. She's a 7 months old white Pomeranian. She is GORGEOUS!!!! again, not biased ;) She's the "girly-girl" and seems to strut when she has her dresses on or a bow in her hair.

Brenna's niece, Ellie comes to our house about once a week and since last summer she has referred to us as one person. Whenever anyone talks to her about either Brenna or I, she automatically says "Ghen-B". We find it completely adorable and hope she doesn't grow out of it any time soon.

I think that pretty much sums it up :)
