A hodgepodge of things

A few things to update the blogosphere about...

Bren got a new computer and it's AWESOME. I'm actually typing on it since mine has pretty much seen better days. Hard to type a blog post when half the letters you use to spell everyday words are not working, right? Yeah! I digress tho, so she got a Gateway with Windows 7. I don't know much about that but from what I've seen it seems pretty cool. Oh and the computer is also blue which is a plus since Bren's favorite color IS blue. I added new computer to my list of things to get once I move back to TN. A new phone is also on there since mine keeps shutting off and not charging even though I have it plugged in for hours at a time. Could be the battery or something but as long as it holds out til May I'm good.

Kallie has been doing this choke/cough/puking thing the last few days and at first I thought she had eaten one too many not dog friendly things (ex. cat liter and the carpet strings) but now I'm wondering if she might have a cold or something. We're taking her to the vet soon for her yearly check up so we'll have it checked out. Unless she gets worse in which case we'll take her sooner.

Bren is getting a new manual wheelchair, whoo-hooo!!! It has been a long time coming. Monday they are coming to measure her and all that boring stuff. She is hoping to get a really comfortable cushion seat since her posture has been kind of wonky lately. She's even hoping they can maybe suggest something for her power chair. That would be wonderful since she spends most of her time in the power chair.

Ellie, Bren's niece, has gotten into dolls! She has been playing with Bren's old American Girl Bitty Baby and we got her a double stroller so she can push TWO babies (or a baby and a barbie, lol). She is literally a little person now. Earlier this week I was hanging out with her and we were playing with her dollhouse and she was making different voices for the mom, dad, sister... it was SOOO cute.

The weather was gorgeous for a while and now it has turned chilly again. I want the nice-only-need-a-long sleeved shirt- or maybe just short sleeves- weather back!!!! I can't believe my birthday is getting closer, seems like it was just Christmas/New Years. I think I'm pretty much decided on going to Painting with a Twist a few days before my birthday and then seeing a movie on the actual day.

Until next time!

It continues...

The snow has returned & the ice never left!...
Pipes still freezing, temperature still very cold.
still very stir crazy.
still very grateful to have a place to keep warm.

Going stir crazy!

The title pretty much says it all! It started when I got sick two weeks ago. Bummer. Then I kept feeling worse & getting weaker. Big Bummer. I had Bren's mom take me to the ER last Thursday night and after two breathing treatments, a steroid shot, and x-rays they told me I had pneumonia. Huge Bummer! ... Then when I started recovering, feeling better, and actually wanting to get out the big snow & ice storm of 2011 arrived. Fun times. NOT! It hasn't gotten over 18 degrees in the day time and it's been like 12 degrees at night. Today the pipes froze... I'm ready for the ice to thaw!!!

It's cold!

Snow equals hot chocolate!!!

It snowed!....

The weather people were saying it was going to possibly snow but I was skeptical. They begin to freak at the slightest change in the air. Well as I was driving back from Hastings, were I got Merlin: Season 1 but more on that later, it started to rain a bit. As the night went on it kept raining & the temperature kept going down. We went to sleep thinking it was just wet & icky out... Then we woke up to white covering the ground!!!

I don't like to drive in rain or snow but I LOVE listening to the rain & looking at the ground covered in snow (and playing in it!). Weird? So any-who, after waking up and eating we took Kallie out to run in the snow. We took her out last February when it snowed & she loved it, once again she had a blast! Made us wish we had a fenced in place. After May she will, but that's for another post :)

Now on to Merlin!!! I've always been fascinated with King Arthur & everything that goes with it. So when I mentioned to Bren that the new season was coming on she was all ears! We watched the premiere & then it was decided we needed to see it from the beginning.... So last night we crashed on the couch and watched 6 episodes. Tonight we plan to finish the rest of the 1st season.

Here's what it looks like from our door.

Here's Kallie warming up after playing out in the snow.

The end of another year.

Holy bananas!!! It's nearing the end of another year and yet again I failed at this blogging thing. Next year I will succeed!!! (Maybe, haha)There's tons to write about but it seems the time always slips away from me. Some highlights of 2010...

* Got a orange tabby we named Murphy in March. He's SOOOO cute!!! He and Doodles get along wonderfully and I could sit and watch them together for hours. It's precious.

* Went 6 months without seeing my grandparents which was rough since I went 24 years seeing them just about everyday.

* My sister graduated college!!!!

* Bren's neice grew into a kid over night it seems. She's only 3 but she's so intelligent and carries herself like someone older.

* Bren had a good year medical wise. That is ALWAYS a good thing.

* Bren and I dressed up for Halloween. Her was Alice and we were our own versions of the Mad Hatter and The Cheshire Cat.

* I decided I am moving back to Tennessee next May and if all goes well Bren will be following about 4-6 or so months later.

I think that's all for now.

Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!!!!

One of those kinda days

Started the day off with a nice caffeinated drink and wondering what to do on this lovely day.... Because it's one of those kind of days. Ya know, the ones where you don't make plans, and just let whatever happen. I love those!

With no set destination in mind B and I hopped in the car and set out on a mini road trip within the city of Denton. Not much of a trip you might say but we had fun none the same :)

We went to visit a pet store B's sister had told us about called Fish and Chirps. It was cool. Lots of birds, Lola would have been in birdy heaven...or maybe not, since she thinks she's the only bird we've set eyes on. We picked out some chew treats for Kallie and found a kitty collar that was SOOO cute. >_<

After leaving there we ventured down a road neither of us had previously been down and decided to go pick up some towels and a new fan (since the old one died on us). So off to Wal-mart the car drove. After leaving the store with what we went in to buy (plus some) B looked at me and said she felt like corn dogs... Off to Sonic we drove!

After receiving our corn dogs we headed home and got settled, and are still currently being settled at our computers :)

And might I add that MY TRIBE on Facebook is a new obsession of mine.

Hope you had one of those kinda days too!

Milkshakes, pretty weather, and turning 26

Today, or tonight rather, I went to Sonic to get two cream pie shakes and guess what?!?!? They didn't know what the heck I was talking about. WHAAA? I ended up getting Brenna a caramel shake, and I stopped at Jack In The Box to get an Oreo one. But back to the whole not having the shake I originally went to get at Sonic. I know that Texas has different things then Tennessee, and when I found out last summer that they didn't have Peanut Butter milkshakes I was very bummed, and then shortly after I had Brenna try a Chocolate Cream Pie shake and she liked it:) So both of us being in a milkshake mood, off to Sonic I drove. On top of not having cream pie shakes, they also didn't have Hot Fudge Brownie Sundaes. WHAAA?!?!? There went my second choice, hmmmpph! Good thing I can make a pretty good peanut butter shake when I have all the right ingredients (which was not tonight, obviously).

On a better note, the weather has been pretty! Aside from the painters still finishing up the trim and what not it's been a good week. We took Kallie for a walk, bought some flowers and planted them in a pot to put on our "porch", and took Doodles out to get comfortable with the surroundings. When I lived in TN I used to take her out in the back yard and she liked it. She was a bit scared this time though and I brought her back in, however Kallie was enjoying being outside so we stayed out a bit longer with her.

...And yesterday I turned 26! I'm getting closer to 30 and I have mixed feelings about it. I don't feel any different, nor look it, well aside from chopping my hair off this past Monday. But I remember being younger and thinking 30 was SO old. >_< Of course now I don't think that. Anyways here's a pic of me with my new short do, and the head band I made :)
